Why your mother tongue

Some things are easier to say in your own language

Building a life in another country means adapting to a new language, a new work culture and a new daily life all at once. Even if you speak the local language well, feelings, family stories and memories are often easier to put into words in Turkish or Azerbaijani.

With a psychologist who speaks your language and understands your cultural background, you don’t have to translate yourself or explain the basics first. You can start with what matters to you.

Topics we can work on

  • Settling in and culture shock
  • Loneliness and homesickness
  • Identity between two cultures
  • Anxiety, worry and stress
  • Relationships, family and parenting abroad
  • Grief and losses experienced from far away

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I have sessions in Turkish from abroad?

Yes. All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, private place for the video call. Sessions are held online from Baku.

Which languages are the sessions in?

Turkish or Azerbaijani, whichever you feel more comfortable in.

How do you handle the time difference?

We agree on a time that suits your time zone. When the clocks change for summer or winter time, we adjust it together.

Will my health insurance cover the sessions?

Usually not. Insurers and public health systems generally cover only providers registered in their own country. If you want to claim, check with your insurer before the first session.

Does this replace care in my country?

No. If you need medical or psychiatric care, please contact your doctor or local services. Online sessions cannot replace that care.

Can we also meet in person?

Yes. When you are in Baku, a session at the office is also possible.

Wherever you are, the first step is a short message.

Tell us which country you live in and which language you prefer; we will find a suitable time together.
